Comics and caricatures have been very popular in Turkey for decades; the satirical magazines have a high circulation and are distributed nationwide. The increasingly authoritarian government and the economic crisis in Turkey are forcing many artists and publishers to leave their homeland. Many are now trying to gain a foothold in Berlin and find an audience for their works. The event provides insights into the diversity of Turkish comics.

Guests include comic and manga publisher Özlem Gençer and illustrator Oktay Gençer, known under the name Oky, as well as cartoonist Memo Tembelçizer and author Barış Uygur, who both publish Turkish comics in German through their publishing house interdictum.
